Rehab Essentials; and Sustainable Health Index.

As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, she began her career founding Body Dynamics, Inc, an interdisciplinary clinic that integrates physical therapy and other wellness services to maximize function, prevent illness, and empower whole health. Now in it's 25th year, BDI continues to lead the way in systematically integrating plans of care to advance the health of individuals as well as working with organizations and communities to design programs that improve the health and well-being their people.

She began teaching Health and Wellness for the Physical Therapist for a wonderful on-line education company, Rehab Essentials (RE). She is now teaching Foundations in Population Health for Rehab Professionals, direct RE's Lifestyle Certificate Program, and as of September 2019, joined the RE Executive Team as their Chief Operating Officer.

She learned over the years that systematically integrating care and aligning resources can be a huge challenge in our silo-d medical environment. This led her to develop the Sustainable Health Index (SHI): initially a data intelligence system to help the practitioners and patients at BDI understand the full-context of health, health beliefs, health behaviors, and community barriers influencing outcomes.

Are you ready to Raise the Bar?

Make sure to take away the notes!

Conversation Highlights:

[00:25] Who is Jennifer Gamboa? [05:25]

● How did Jennifer start at the sustainable health index?

● Body dynamics with counseling!

● How do anxiety and depression affect your sympathetic nervous system?

[05:28] Sustainable Health Index is like a Radar graph! [09:03]

● Lifestyle, behavior, and modification support better health.

● Jennifer provides a less expensive, group and one on one environment to the people.

[09:58] How is the Sustainable Health Index different from others? [15:58]

● Jennifer's strategy for working with employers…

[21:18] Most employers don't understand the everyday financial stress of the people. Ami is the owner of Roofer Chicks, New Braunfels’ Top Roofing Contractor.

Ami Feller was born and raised in Marshalltown, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa State University in 1997 with a BS in Transportation & Logistics and a BA in German.

In 2010 she received her MBA from University of Phoenix. While attending Iowa State, her brother Scott started a roofing crew during the summers, and Ami went to work for him on the crew, eventually becoming the crew foreman. After graduation, she got a “real job” – Ami has worked at Wal-Mart, Caterpillar, Airborne/DHL Express and Coca-Cola.

She felt something lacking in corporate America and returned to the roofing industry in 2012. Her brother Scott and his wife Stacie and Ami started Feller Roofing & Remodeling.

In 2016, Ami split off on her own and opened Feller Roofing of New Braunfels, which was renamed Roofer Chicks in 2021. She is known around town and on YouTube as “The Roofer Chick.”

In October 2020, Ami started an entirely female roofing crew; she is actively working to change the stigma of women in the trades. Aside from roofing, Ami is an active member in Rotary International, the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce, the Women’s Business Alliance, National Association of Women Business Owner (NAWBO), and her church. She sits on the board for Habitat for Humanity and the Brauntex (our local historic theatre). She is a single mom of one amazing daughter, Hannah, who is currently 14.

Are you ready to Raise the Bar?

Make sure to take away the notes!

Conversation Highlights:

[00:24] Who is Ami Feller? His commitment to ongoing professional development is exemplified by his membership in relevant professional groups, such as the National Federation of Independent Business Owners (NFIB), C12 Group, Dave Ramsey Investment Advisory Council, and Goldman Sachs Personal Financial Management Advisory Council.

Before PAX, Darryl was on track for a future on Wall Street, but his love for Texas and dreams of a more rewarding career led him to create PAX Financial instead. Influenced both by an upbringing without privileges and close association with associates whose wealth failed to make them happier, Darryl’s mission is both to aid clients in growing their wealth and guide clients toward aligning their wealth with their values and goals.

In his time outside of PAX, Darryl has lobbied in DC for small business reform, chaired a board that redeveloped part of San Antonio, published books and articles, and co-founded a non-profit in Moldova. His faith and church memberships are integral to both his personal and professional development. He carves out time to join church committees, including financial committees and international ministry committees, while also facilitating a Bible study that helps men to be better husbands and fathers.

Darryl’s ambition is to create a legacy that exists within people whose lives have been bettered via contact with him.

Are you ready to Raise the Bar?

Make sure to take away the notes!

Conversation Highlights:

[00:58] How does Darryl Lyons identify new customers?

● The most important process of business is identifying Who is not your client!

[03:33] What are the challenges in financial services?

[06:27] Definition of Retirement is different for everyone.

[07:44] What type of financial process does Darryl provide?

● What are people's priorities?

[11:45] Darryl's "Family with Special Needs children" policy?

[14:30] The Best Financial Advice…

[15:30] Anxiety and stress are huge factors at the workplace!

[16:55] Darryl is a James Clear fan!

[20:44] The tool you need to build an employee engagement strategy that works.

[21:15] What are the books written by Darryl Lyons?

[22:54] Darryl's experience as a Forbes Council Member.

[24:35] Takeaway from Today's Episode

Memorable Quotes:

“Business is mutually profitable."

"Anxiety is the key if you are dealing with society day by day."

"Acknowledging yourself is a great key to dealing with anxiety."

Special Reminder:

Thanks for checking out the show. Be sure to subscribe and leave a review.

If you have an idea or topic for the show, or maybe you want to be on the show, visit us at https://raisingthebar.live.

Reach out to Darryl Lyons:

● LinkedIn

● https://paxfinancialgroup.com

Resources:

PAX Financial Group, LLC

●
